I had a job this morning.. I went to film a video at a local church, for about 40 kids doing their 1st communion. Though videography is not really part of my everyday work, I found it interesting. I was assisting someone else across the church also doing video. My tasks at this event included me taking some pictures of the church both inside and out, candels, flowers…. and finially to design a dvd cover for all these children. Once i’ve completed the design.. I just might post a sample of it

Yesterday, I attended a advanced photoshop class, which is part of a 3 day course (split up during the month). The content of the class is a bit redundant. I knew almost every technique explained. I was looking for new techniques used by profesionals to improve my workflow, but these professional teachers giving the class would refuse to share and/or give out their secrets and personal techniques. I’ve been seeing this more & more, as well as on dvd tutorials (which I purchased on popular websites). Possibly in the near future i’ll create a blog category providing advanced photoshop tutorials.
Two weeks ago I had a little job in the West Island, precisely at McGill campus for a junior league hockey team. It’s the second time that I photograph a team this year. Everyone is loving my work, and I am getting more referrals from my clients. I am the type who will go to the arena nice and early in the morning, take about 15 portrait shot and group shots. Once back home, I’ll sit down and design hockey style cards for each player. I create a big photo-montage for the team that each player will receive on a laminated plate. Some of the challenging tasks, are to automate the whole process using photoshop’s actions. I am getting better and better with time… almost an expert in automating tasks in photoshop. Here is the fruit of my labor.
At least we will have something to watch on tv this spring. The Montreal Habs made it to the playoffs and will be facing Carolina’s Huricanes. Personally, I dont think they will pass the first round but I will still watch every game and hope they can make it to the cup! 50 days left ’till the Fifa Worldcup “2006″. Hockey will keep me busy until then.
FIFA CUP ’06 – BEGINING THIS JUNE!!

…well, I’m shopping for 2 new cameras. One for everyday use which would be a digital compact camera and the other for work, being a digital SLR camera.
The one for work & the one I know i’ll be getting, is a Nikon D200 10.2 Megapixel body (2400$)with a MB200 vertical grip for portrait shooting. The nikon will be used as a primary body for wedding coverage along with the nikon D70 as a backup camera.
As a small compact digital camera, I’m thinking a Canon SD700 with 7megapixel, 4x zoom & uses image stabilization for 499$ I think its a good deal. I’ll wait another month or so to see some sample images at ISO800 before buying it.
