Since I bought my first Nikon DSLR, I have been reading daily on forums why people pick a brand and defend there purchase. The time has come for me to upgrade and the Nikon D200 was the ideal choice. Hmm… Something happened in the mean time while planning my purchase. I borrowed from a friend a Canon 5D to use as a backup in model photo shoot. I was amazed by that piece of equipment and ended up using as the main body. The colors are just amazing straight out of the camera without any retouching. The skin tone seems better then the Nikon maybe not the sharpness . The feel of the vertical grip is awesome especially for portrait.
Obviously nothing to be compared to the Nikon D70, which is a 6megapixel camera compared to 13 megapixel of the Canon. The flash system seems to be very accurate and a fast focusing in low light.
The problem with switching brands is the lenses and I have over ten professional Nikko lenses. I need to some research to cross match with the canon ones and figure out what’s the best deals out there. It will happen after I finish all my weddings in September and then I will start cracking on it.
